We had the opportunity to support the "Cyber Security Program" and increase the maturity level of security against cyber attacks. Together with the client, we implemented various Value Streams and the agile management method "Spotify." During this process, we defined objectives in OKRs and executed them through OKR cycles using the Value Streams. Our expertise was particularly valuable for the Value Streams "IT Crisis Management" and "Threat Intelligence, Detection & Response," for which we provided a project manager. Utilizing Workpath, we set goals to achieve the desired maturity level in the form of Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and then broke them down into EPICs, User Stories, and Tasks in Azure DevOps to create deliverables.
We were tasked with acting as project managers for the domains of IT infrastructure, IT platform, digital workplace, and data analytics for multiple projects. Our challenge was to handle these projects using both agile and traditional management methods, as the organization was structured according to PRINCE2. We successfully executed the projects, implementing topics such as standardization, centralization, consolidation, development, roll-out, blackout prevention, asset management, outsourcing, update, and upgrade. With the help of PowerBI, Confluence, and Jira tools, we captured the scope of the projects and allocated work accordingly among the project teams. Regular project status reports for portfolio and program management were integral to our project success.
We were commissioned by a client to accompany the implementation of a new inventory management system. The project required outsourcing operations to a vendor and had to be completed within a tight timeframe of just three months. Our task was to provide an experienced project manager who is familiar with software implementation and personnel training. In a short period, we developed a detailed plan for introducing the new system and replacing the old one, while simultaneously training the vendor to ensure a smooth takeover of operations. Thanks to our strict plan and regular motivation of the project team, we were able to meet the given deadlines and successfully complete the project.
We were tasked with equipping the Customer Service Center with a new facility. The challenge was to coordinate all involved trades within a short time frame and set up the necessary IT infrastructure, hardware, and software. As project managers, we took on the organization and coordination, bringing a hands-on mentality to the project. Thanks to our experience and dedication, the employees of the Customer Service Center were able to work efficiently in their new environment, meeting the deadline as planned. The satisfaction of our client confirms our success in delivering a successful outcome.
We helped a customer in the healthcare sector introduce and establish Scrum to increase efficiency and create transparency. Through continuous optimization of internal processes and the implementation of regular retrospectives, we were able to raise the average sprint goal achievement from 50% to over 85%, while also increasing velocity. We provided on-the-job coaching and training to support the team and Product Owner in promoting the use of agile methods and establishing an agile mindset. The successful adoption of a digital board and backlog was particularly crucial in achieving success.
We have taken on an agile coaching role in a development department and analyzed the current state of the teams. We created an "Agile Maturity Check" and a concept for further proceedings to bring clarity and responsibilities. Through continuous coaching of the teams, especially the Product Owner and Scrum Master, and conducting awareness sessions, we were able to create transparency and acceptance for the applied agile methods. Identifying critical success factors has contributed to deriving further actions and taking the customer's agile transformation to the next level.
We supported the coordination of the design department and alignment with manufacturing, which comprised external technicians and external service providers. We brought transparency through the implementation of Scrum and Kanban boards and conducted workshops to establish common rules for the work system and foster an agile mindset. Through close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and continuous review of priorities and bottlenecks, we enabled the completion of the product within the targeted 12 months and achieved a significant increase in efficiency.
Agile Transformation in Aviation
As a consulting company, we conducted a project to support a Solution Manager in the field of automation and digitalization in aircraft manufacturing. Within a transformation based on the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®), we designed and conducted trainings and workshops. We developed metrics, established and built governance structures to facilitate coordination between program management and solution trains. At the program level, we moderated and supported workshops, further developed the Community of Practice, and coached Scrum Masters. Our efforts contributed to optimizing the company's business processes and increasing its competitiveness in the market.
An aviation supplier commissioned us to lead the development and operation of databases and tools. The goal was to make cross-departmental interfaces more transparent and establish a database for the automated generation of KPIs. Our experienced project management team worked closely with the customer to understand the requirements and identify the right tools and technologies. Using SQL, HTML, and VBA, we developed a tool that automated the customer's processes and generated real-time KPIs. The project was considered a great success and helped the customer optimize their business processes and enhance their competitiveness.
